Starting from its own methodology associated to other experiences towards the acting art of physical expression, Ritual Theater Group develops in this workshop the searching for a poetic body, a body able to codify states of presence and fictitious expression and different from its own quotidian, a extra quotidian body, a ritual body. Starting with practical exercises, based on researches and projects developed by the group about classical and contemporary mimic elements, this course seeks to approach the actor’s physical exercising and resistance, working with techniques which will propitiate a broadening in the expressive work of the individual’s body.

Working the body as an instrument of alive expression, pulsing, summarizing about a few dance modalities that the Brazilian people use to manifest themselves, to manifest their feelings, grasping what’s most essential about these modalities to the actor’s work: THE BODY, the energy which exhale through the sweaty pores of who dances, who plays, the dancer’s eye, the speech, the song, as a ritualistic manifestation of the involved ones with the celebration. The skirts which goes around, the nee that moves abruptly, the feet which stick on the ground, the body that dances, that flies. Basic dance notions of Cacuriá, Jongo, Coco, are applied as forms to produce energy for the dancers body.
